I go to the game, NJ is winning 3-2. I change channels. 2 minutes later I go back to the game, it's 4-3. Did Brodeur choke?
2nd Round
Boston vs. Carolina - Boston, hands down.
Washington vs. Pittsburgh - This is going to be good. I want the caps to win, but I think the pens will take it.
Detroit vs. Anaheim - Detroit is going to win.
Chicago vs. Vancouver - I really don't know. Chicago is doing much better than most expected, but Luongo is on fire. I say Vancouver,

I finally got to see what happened (like I said, stupid me taking a shower thinking it was over) - tying goal was just great offense/slightly out of position defense, not really on Brodeur - game winner was a softie, right between his arm and his chest. Can't blame him for the tie, but the last goal is on Brodeur.
I agree with all four of your next round predictions, and I'm really hoping for a Crosby/Ovechkin fight

Vancouver fan! VAncouver in 5 or less against Chicago. Anahiem is gonna mop the floor with Detriot me thinks.. Ovechkin>Crosby ... Boston>Canes in 7. Ovechkin>Chara in all respects. Caps in 6. Vancouver and Anahiem.. unfortunately they got us 2 years ago in 7, battle of Turco and Luongo to the extreme. I think it'll be a 6 or 7 game series and could go either way. Personally I think the West is better.. So winning west team takes the cup over the Caps in 5...

You and me both.
This series is going to be amazing. Honestly, it can go either way for every single team in the series.

So far, good games.
Vancouver vs. Chicago: 5-3 Series: 1-0
Surprised Chicago tied it up. Luongo and the rest of them can't let that happen again.
Detroit vs. Anaheim: 3-2 Series: 1-0
Close game, thought it was going into OT. Lidstrom gets the game winning goal with 50 seconds left in regulation.
Boston vs. Carolina: 4-1 Series: 1-0
Ward needs to play better if he wants to stand a chance against Boston. Keep it up, Boston.
Washington vs. Pittsburgh: 3-2 Series: 1-0
Screw Crosby. Ovechkin had a very nice slapshot. Hopefully they keep it up.

Luongo and the rest of them let it happen again - Chicago down 2-0, then a five goal flurry in ~15 minutes. I still think it'll be 2-2 when it heads back to Vancouver, but if Chicago can win both at home, I think Chicago will pull off another series. I'll be watching this series a lot closer now that the Bulls-Celtics is done playing on the same nights.
The more I watch though, the more I'm convinced it's really just Detroit, Boston, and filler.

Vancouver is getting in a very dangerous habit of not playing their best when they're in the lead. If Chicago takes both their home games, I doubt Vancouver will make a come back. Hopefully it doesn't get to that, though.

'nucks actually kept their lead this time which gave a sigh of relief to many people after their last performance. Hopefully they'll keep up the momentum in next game and come back 3-1 home.

So, I've missed quite a bit.
Vancouver vs. Chicago - Series 2-2
Shouldn't have happened imo. But yet again, Vancouver goes from being in the lead for 57 and a half minutes to losing in OT.
Detroit vs. Anaheim - Series 1-2
3OT game was amazing. That's all I have to say, really. They're currently playing, the score is 1-1.
Boston vs. Carolina - Series 1-2
Good job with that turnover in overtime, Chara. Ward is playing fking amazing, and Staal is a beast. I really underestimated Carolina, they do have a chance of winning this series.
Washington vs. Pittsburgh - Series 2-1
Battle of the titans. Crosby and Ovechkin both getting hattricks in the same game? Yes, please. This series is amazing.

I have to retract my Boston/Detroit/filler comment from above. I'm loving every bit of every series that I'm seeing.
I really get the feeling that Vancouver should have swept my Blackhawks, yet it's going back to Canada tied at two. Whoever wins Game 5 will win the series, because I don't trust either of these teams to win two straight.

That's what I'm thinking too. Vancouver has home ice advantage, and I'm sure the crowd is going to be going crazy. They just need to play a solid game. I think this series is going to go to game 7.

So, whenever a team has the lead and loses it, it is now referred to as 'pulling a canuck' (thanks, akuma).
Chicago makes it to the conference finals for the first time since 1992. Washington wins in OT to force a game 7 back in Washington. Boston shuts out Carolina for a chance to come back in the series.
Oh yeah, Detroit's winning the series 3-2.

Washington is going to win it. But regardless of who wins, we will not see a series like that one in a long time.
Anyways, if Boston can win tonight, I truly believe they will win the series in game 7. I think it's safe to say Anaheim is gone tonight. I also think it's safe to say Anaheim is gone tonight.

I'm loving these playoffs. Three series out of four go to Game 7, while the other one ended in a respectable six. I'm almost afraid that it's topping out too early, and the finals will end up being a 4-0 or 4-1.
As much as I hate Detroit and all sports teams within 50 miles of Detroit, I'm really pulling for the Wings to get through. A Detroit-Chicago series will make for some good bar trips in my area
NIGHTTIME EDIT because I don't bump my posts like Arky :
Pittsburgh gets their first two goals eight seconds apart, then two minutes into the second period they've added two more. This isn't going to end well for Washington.
SECOND EDIT (now that it's over): I couldn't watch the game but did I see that Pittsburgh had zero penalties? Crazy.

Dan Cleary FTW!!!
Nice to see an Original Six Conference Finals.
Will we see a rematch of last years finals? Or will Boston take out the Pens? An Original Six Stanley Cup Finals would be nice too, of course with the Wings from the West :P
